New Zealand’s Ministry of Education has just published its initial advice on the use of Generative AI tools like ChatGPT within the education system. Like many new technologies deployed in education settings, Generative AI have significant potential to improve learning outcomes but create potentially harmful effects if not used carefully.
Policy work is ongoing and we expect to provide further advice as these tools and education use cases develop further.
