The Biometrics Code Special Event: Industry Panel Discussion

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner has now released the draft of the Biometric Processing Privacy Code.

Once implemented, a new code of practice will introduce stricter regulation around when and how biometric information can be collected and used in or via automated processing. How well this works in practice depends on the detail.

Lawyers, industry leaders and many in the tech sector have raised serious concerns, notibly;

β€œThe Draft Code could effectively operate as a complete ban on agencies adopting and using any new biometric processing technology or biometric processing for new use cases.” Anchali Anandanayagam - HGM.

Join us on June 12th to learn about the Biometric Code changes from the NZ Privacy Commission, and panel discussion on the impact and implications for NZ tech companies, innovation, data and privacy.
